The geologist guide lady was very knowledgable and provided detailed information about the rocks and recent eruptions in the local area as well as some historical information both during the drive and on the walk. She also presented some graphical data about past eruption and maps on the active areas on Iceland which were all very interesting. The walk was no too strenuous but you do need a reasonable level of fitness as there is some uphill sections and you need to wear good sturdy footware as the path was rocky in places.
