“We did this trip in mid-October. Tour guides were Dagur (6 days) and Jon (2days). The 2 guides were awesome. They work for Troll of Iceland and are locals. We rode in a small mini-bus that holds 20 people. 6 days we had 18 tourists. We had 7 for the final 2 days. 4 Americans, 2 from Australia and the remainder from various Asian countries. You drive the Rim Road in a counter-clockwise direction. In October we had, for the 8 days, rain, high winds, snow and sun. Bring plenty of clothes and layers. You stay at 6 different hotels for the 7 nights. They all are mid-level with free…”

We were very lucky during the tour and managed to get almost everything Iceland’s Ring Road tour had to offer in winter. Our guide always helped us to get to experience as much as possible and also taking care of our comfort all the time. She is also very informative about each place too! “This trip feels like a school trip and not in a good way. The choice of accommodation is very poor, as you need to embrace no hot water and poor catering. Given choice, I would just copy itinerary and drive around in the car. The guide is the only positivity in the ocean of inconvenience and rude unprofessional service.”

“The 19 seater van was too small for this tour. It was more crammed than airline basic economy, with very little leg room and little space for our day bags. One of the 3 tour guides should talk less. She should not share her personal stories. Stick to tour related material. Acureyri hotel room was too small, no table space, no bag space, poorly lit, no closet, no safe, bathroom too small. Other than the above the tour was very enjoyable.”

“We loved this trip unreservedly! It was all we could expect and more. The price was very fair. The hotels we stayed at were excellent including our dinners and breakfasts, which always offered both Icelandic dishes and more standard European dishes for those with less adventurous palettes. Each stop revealed a special aspect of Iceland’s unique landscape and culture. One hotel was also a ranch breeding Icelandic horses. Another offered rooms in a replica of an Icelandic turf built house. Waterfalls, black sand beaches, glaciers and areas of prior lava fields let us experience the unique features of its land. “The dive was incredible. Dory our instructor was very thorough with all the dry suit fitting and explained every step. She took loads of photos of us and gave us time to explore the lagoon. The experience itself is only like 30 mins but with how cold your head and hands get it’s enough. I can’t believe how clear the water was! Sky Lagoon at the end of the day was just the cherry on top of the cake to warm up. Would recommend!”

The guide (Starri) was really super, informed, witty and obviously enjoyed his job and showcasing his country to visitors. the Hotels were really good quality. the only problem is that there is so much to see and do, that at times things can seem a bit rushed - but that is true for many tours in many countries.”

“We paid for the personalized tour, and no one asked us what we wanted to see or any preferences; we were given an address in the middle of a park to pick up the itinerary, but there was no one there, we called the phone number, and no one answered. I'm not sure if this was fraud intentionally, but we will request our cash back from the credit card company.”
